Microsoft announced some major change for Xbox. Effective 21 April, you no longer need an Xbox Live Gold membership for multiplayer games. These are only for free-to-play games which Microsoft says is over 50 games. “Looking for Group” and “Party chat” is also available as part of the April update.
Call of Duty, Apex legends, Fortnite and WarFrames are examples of games that you can now play without any subscription.
This change is applicable to Xbox Series S/X, Xbox One S and the original Xbox One. This is a very much welcome change since some gamers love playing free-to-play games and no longer need a subscription to play with friends and family.
