Numerous times I’ve been asked about how to shutdown Windows 8 or Server 2012 without seeing the famous shutdown from the start menu.
I normally use:
shutdown -s -t 0
-t is the time it takes to shutown
To restart
shutdown -r -t 0
On Windows 8, you could always logoff and then see the turn off button if am not mistaken.
Windows Key on your keyboard + i – Brings up the nice interface of Metro .. There should be power there
